Solway Ecology offers a high quality, cost-effective range of ornithological services to our clients. These include surveys, assessments, expert advice and reporting.

Birds have been subject to increasing habitat loss leading to population decline in recent years. All native wild birds including migratory species are protected by law, as are nesting and breeding birds. Several, such as barn owls, are schedule 1 listed species, which are given further legal protection. The need for bird surveys on land proposed for development therefore, is essential with most local planning authorities requiring the surveys as standard, prior to granting planning permission.

We are experienced in undertaking work for clients across a range of industry sectors throughout Scotland and the North of England.
